The Society was formed in August 1997 as a forum for those with a shared interest in the ancient civilisations of the eastern Mediterranean: Egypt, Anatolia, Aegean and the Near East; and in occasional forays into other areas and periods.

Meetings take the form of talks by either qualified external speakers or members with specialised knowledge and experience. There is also a Newsletter giving information of Ancient History matters culled from the Internet, media, books and conferences.

Membership

Membership is £12 per year which gives entrance to meetings for £1 and free Newsletters. Guests and other non-members are always welcome to attend any of our meetings (charge £2.50).

There are reduced rates for under 18s and full-time students of £5 Membership and £1 guest rate.

Meetings

3CAHS meets monthly in Upton Snodsbury Village Hall, (see map here), at 7:30pm sharp, on alternate Wednesday and Thursday evenings (apart from August). Coffee is available before the Meeting.
